"Running hills breaks up your rhythm and forces your muscles to adapt to new stresses. The result? You become stronger"
Eamonn Coghlan, Irish athlete and 3-time Olympian
I would say exactly the same about a cross country run and I am sure you would agree now.
"The route was really bad in this half marathon" said one runner, and that sums up the difference between a cross country Half and a City Half Marathon. We learn that it is not only the gradient that can upset our rhythm but also the ground beneath. Experience different terrains, gradients, temperatures, and more and make yourself more adaptable over time - not just as a long distance runner but as a person - because that is another great gift that running can give.
You did it well - in the cold mist of 9th January at Panchkula
The warm up and hydration by Elemention Gym, the Breakfast and expo location by North Park and the Medical care of Alchemist - made the entire experience a great one, for all of us.
The finale over breakfast and the slide show was great. We are really glad that you were there. The outstation folks should book up the place early next time so that:
They come in on Friday night and relax and explore a bot on Sat and perhaps we have a casual run in another location out in the wilds on Sat morning, and then go to the expo etc
Have more time to enjoy North Park and around and we can then book all 28 rooms and have a blast.
Check out the results, the over 400 photographs, and download a calendar with over 150 photographs of the run.
If you have more photographs - send them over to us so that we can add them onto the same link.
Keep a lookout for the next run in the Tricity - in either Panchkula or Chandigarh in March, and then a Cross Country Run in Gurgaon and a run in Corbett - see you there.
And perhaps we can come to North Park Panchkula again when it is warmer to take in a different aspect - the view, which we couldn't get to see much of on the 9th.
See you soon
